Pork Crisis Alert Text Service Announced
DES MOINES, Iowa – January 11, 2016 – The National Pork Board today introduced a pork industry crisis text news service, Pork Crisis Alert, which will immediately deliver essential information to U.S. pork producers in the event of a major industry-wide emergency.
The Antibiotics Resource Center is your one-stop place to find information and resources about responsible antibiotic use on the farm. This includes details about the new Veterinary Feed Directive and prescription changes for water-based antibiotics that go into effect on Jan. 1, 2017.
Doing what’s best for people, pigs and the planet has been at the core of decades of continuous improvement in the pork industry. From producing leaner pork to reducing pork’s carbon footprint, dynamic individuals have stepped up and worked together to positively impact pig farmers’ ability to produce high-quality pork.
The Council is a Virginia Nonstock Corporation which is organized to better the conditions of those engaged in the production of pork and porcino animals. The Virginia Pork Council seeks to improve the quality of pork products produced, and to develop a higher degree of efficiency in the production of pork and porcine animals within the Commonwealth of Virginia.
We cooperate with other organizations, agencies, and other groups who also want to improve the pork industry within the Commonwealth of Virginia. Through youth oriented activities, sales, and shows the Virginia Pork Council is able to provide its members with expertise in the many aspects of pork production. The Virginia Pork Council also seeks to educate the general public about the pork industry in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
